Bond Rise is committed to providing our clients/ participants with high quality service and acknowledges that it is in each person’s best interest to resolve any issues quickly, carefully and in confidence. We encourage a culture of open communication which is both responsive and accountable in relation to any grievance or complaint. It is the client/ participant’s right to expect a high standard of work from our staff and to feel comfortable with them in their home. If there is any aspect of the service that client/ participant is not happy about, Bond Rise welcomes the opportunity to work with the client/ participant, their carer or advocate to address any issues of concern. it is important to receive the concern or complaint professionally, ensuring that the issue is recorded, that all the information is taken, the name of the person relaying the issue, and the date are all recorded and verified.

Bond Rise is committed to the establishment of a safe place of work, safe working methods and the provision of a safe workplace and equipment.

Policy

  • Bond Rise will, to the best of its ability, ensure that staff are adequately trained and informed to perform their jobs safely.
  • Bond Rise will ensure where possible, for prompt action to be taken to eliminate unsafe conditions and practices.
  • All staff to feel confident and comfortable to walk away from an environment that feels threatening or ‘not quiet right’, knowing they have the implicit support of Bond Rise.
  • Bond Rise has an obligation to inform participants or their representatives when a hazard or risk presents in the home or out of the home. Bond Rise will withdraw its role in working with the participant if the risk is not eliminated.
  • Home Safety checks include smoke alarms, safe batteries for electric wheelchairs, charging voice output devices in electrical sockets that are secure and equipment that is regularly checked and maintained.
  • Bond Rise will continually consult with health and safety representatives about ways to control risks associated with hazardous or risky tasks. Compliance with OHS laws is a continuous process. Bond Rise aims to maintain a healthy and safe work environment

Bond Rise attends regular annual training in the following areas:

    • Manual handling training associated with moving and supporting people with physical impairment.
    • First Aid Senior Level 2 and CPR training.
    • Uses the Disability Services – Occupational Health and Safety Compliance Kit recommended by Worksafe Victoria.

Expected Outcomes:

To provide a safe environment, within the confines of the client’s home, free from potential hazards and accidents.

Responsibilty:

Organisation – it is required by regulation that employers identify, assess and minimize risks associated the handling of tasks within the workplace. Staff – all staff should co-operate and comply with preventative policies, programs and procedure when put in place by Bond Rise
